I could recall only that this was a play within a play. (That's why we have a blog now!)
It seems it starred Richard Griffiths (which seems familiar to me now that I have looked it up) and was about a play about WH Auden and Benjamin Britten. I do remember being somewhat surprised by the portrayal of Auden; I cannot imagine his family endorsed the play, which shows him in a filthy apartment and peeing in a sink.
Did we enjoy it? I honestly have no idea!

A Yorkshire Tragedy: not so new but lamentable and true - Part of the Shakespeare Apocrypha
Tuesday 19th January 2010
Oh dear, at time of writing (December 2025, I'll be post-dating publication!), I can honestly say that, aside from a residual sense of having quite enjoyed the evening, I have nothing ... Hence validating the keeping of a record and a somewhat more timely recording of thoughts.

Cannot quite recall this one but, as it was the first of several visits to this theatre for me and Kate, we must have enjoyed this olde worlde play that was once, wrongly, attributed to Shakespeare.
